MOUSECRAFT
Crunching Koalas/Curve Studios
Let’s
make something!
You’ll need to raid the doodle drawers for...
- Two white pipe cleaners - Some grey
cardboard - A black felt tip pen - Two googly eyes -
Scissors - A used-up bog roll - Sticky stuff
First, grab the scissors and
cut out two big circles. Be careful, because scissors are sharp! It
might be best to ask an adult to help you.
Now, fold down a
centimetre on each circle. Plop some sticky stuff on the small
folded bit and then stick them on the bog roll for ears.
Next, make holes either side of the bog roll under the ears with the
scissors – again taking care not to stab yourself or anybody in your
vicinity. Poke the two pipe cleaners through the holes, then bend
them so that they look like whiskers.
It’s time to let our
mouse see, so gloompf some sticky stuff onto the googly eyes and
stick them on the bog roll.
Finally, draw a mouth on the bog
roll – unless you don’t want your mouse eating your cheese, of
course!
Now you should have one incredibly poxy-looking
mouse. Yay!
Sorry, got caught up in being Ms Maker there. We
probably should mention the game.
MouseCraft is a
sort of collision between Lemmings and Alexey Pajitnov's
blocks. Or ‘tetrominoes’ if you’re hyper-geeky.
You do the
bidding of Schrödinger Cat – scientist and closet Mötley Crüe fan -
who’s experimenting on meeses and their lust for cheese. You
strategically place or explodinate those tetromino thingies so that
those meeses won’t be blown to pieces as they single-mindedly seek
rennet-infused num-nums. Hey, they’re almost lemming-like!
80 levels, with
increasingly challenging/annoying puzzles and more bits and bobs to
navigate gradually added, is the dealie. Completionist collectible
collection adds challenge.
If you’re patient, you’ll be like
a cat with cream. If you’re easily riled, you’ll quickly want to
wave (function) goodbye...
