SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV 3D EDITION
Capcom
3DS

First, a word
from our sponsor... CAPCOM PRESENTS (damn, why are ads always
louder? Volume knob...) Chun-Li’s Greatest Hits! Featuring classics
like ‘Thigh of the Tiger’, ‘I Only Have Thighs For You’, ‘Hungry
Thighs’, ‘For Your Thighs Only’, ‘Can't Take My Thighs Off You’, ‘My
Thighs Adored You’, ‘World in my Thighs’, ‘We Close Our Thighs’,
‘Blackened Blue Thighs’ and, of course, her touching rendition of
The Streets’ ‘Dry Your Thighs’...
Alright.
Pathetic groan-inducingness aside, she does have unusually big
thighs, and in 3D they’re even more whopperous. Naturally, however,
there’s more to SSFIV than Chun Li’s pins, so onwards...
For classic
thwomp action, it doesn’t get thwompier than the Street Fighter
series. Capcom’s sharpened the mixture of fighters, abilities,
controls and learning curve over several incarnations over several
years to a hyper-honed pointy-point.
Sure, but how’s it fare when hurled – literally kicking and
screaming - into the <echo> third-ird-ird dimension-sion-sion?</echo>.
Erm, well actually.
As with any 3DS game that‘s ever gonna be worthwhile, you can nix
the 3D altogether and it plays just sweetly thankyouverymuch. But
crank that slider and the machine’s techno-witchcraft sees your
chosen fighters ‘pop’. Opt for the funktastic new ‘Dynamic View’ and
get 3D on 3D, with an over-the-shoulder vista that’s worth
experiencing.
Controls work well, and having combos able to be giant stabbable
squares on screen two makes for ease of pulpinating any of the 35
characters.
Outside world connection’s full-on, not just for wi-fi-fighting, but
with the StreetPass thingy your team can throw challenges at other
Street Fighters they come across as you go about your biz. It’d be
creepy if it wasn’t so cool.
Strip away the gimmickry and this is still supoib SF. Yep,
the thighs have it... (SCHMACK! Oof. Urgh. Uh-huh, we deserved that).
